Bilingual Services for Spanish Speaking Families

DSC Comunidad en Español was started by dedicated parents who saw a need for language inclusive programming in our community.

It offers a variety of support and programs for Spanish speaking individuals with Down syndrome and their families such as:

• The Facebook Group: DSC Comunidad en Español group, in which families can get resources in Spanish, connect and ask each other questions, and get updates on any bilingual events or services happening at DSC.

• Brazos Abiertos: Monthly social events called Brazos Abiertos (Open Arms) for families to build stronger connections and providing an inclusive place for Spanish speaking families to interact and get to know one other.

• Creative Circles with Rocio: A Summer Spanish Immersion Camp available to DSC community members and typical developing siblings/friends. Each day, participants will be immersed in Spanish through songs, story times, art, cooking projects, yoga, and a science experiment! No Spanish knowledge is required to participate.

  Creative Circles with Rocio aims to support children's social-emotional and language development through educational enrichment activities; our sessions are intended for social interactions, connections, breaks, and fun!

  Offered in July and August.
