In 2001, the DSC received money in memory of Heidi Heier, and the Board decided to establish a memorial library in her honor. Through the Heidi Heier Memorial Sharing Library, the Down Syndrome Community maintains a collection of books, audio, video, learning materials and other media pertaining to Down syndrome.

Currently, Sharing Library materials are available to families and professionals who attend select DSC events where the Sharing Library is displayed.
