DSC Academy

DSC Academy aids individuals with Down syndrome ages 5-21 with individualized one-on-one afterschool tutoring.

Curriculum:

This one-on-one tutoring program is geared towards participants ages 5-21. DSC’s tutoring sessions provide direct academic intervention to students with Down syndrome. Tutoring sessions vary based on student strengths and needs while applying specific strategies, resources, and activities. Tutoring sessions include personalized learning materials to support participants during academics focused on Individualized Education Plan related goals, homework, and/or focused academic skills.

Participants ages 5-7:

Does your child need support in basic reading intervention? Beginning mid-January, DSC’s Academy is starting a new reading intervention program for beginner readers, ages 5-7. Participants will have weekly, 1:1 tutoring sessions at DSC’s campus. All sessions will be tailored to participants individual reading needs.

All tutoring sessions take place at the DSC Campus in Seattle.

When:

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Cost and Registration

5-7 year olds-The cost for this age group is $270 for 9 sessions.

8+ year olds-The cost for this age group is $315 for 9 sessions.

To register for Winter 2025, Please contact Leia Steffas at leia@dscpugetsound.org. Tutoring is on a first come, first serve basis.  Once registered, families will complete an intake meeting and participants will have an in-person assessment to determine the goals for the session.
